This exquisite tea is a high-quality Ceylon from Sri Lanka, namely from the famous estate in the country. It is harvested early in the season and grown at high altitudes. The tea is incredibly fresh, reminiscent of a garden in spring after rainfall. It has a delightful combination of flavours, including notes of orange zest, gingerbread, and sweet hay.

One of Sri Lanka's oldest and best tea regions is Nuwara Eliya, which is perched high in the Central Highlands. Along with fragrant eucalyptus, cypress, and wild mint are tea bushes growing in these misty mountain slopes and valleys, reaching altitudes of up to 2000 metres. This quality Pekoe was chosen by us from a solitary garden situated directly beneath the famous Lover's Leap waterfall. The tea is full of crisp scent, harvested after new leaf growth has been dried by the cool northeast breezes. We adore the balance of this Pekoe, which accentuates the leaf quality and carries the scent of the Nuwara Eliya terroir.

Thanks to almost ideal conditions, Sri Lanka, despite its tiny size, is the fourth largest tea growing nation in the world. Known by the colonial moniker "Ceylon," Sri Lanka is a rugged and hilly country whose teas are categorised according to the altitude at which they are grown. Medium-grown teas, grown between 600 and 1200 metres, are more rounded, whereas low-grown teas, planted below 600 metres, are powerful and full-bodied. However, only premium teas—like this exquisite Lover's Leap—will suffice for connoisseurs. The tea trees grow slowly on the misty mountain slopes at elevations above 1800 metres, producing incredibly beautiful teas.
